About Kathy Ogle

In addition to working as a free-lance interpreter and translator for two decades, Kathy Ogle has most recently been the Co-Director of the Ecumenical Program on Central America and the Caribbean (EPICA) in Washington D.C. She has written, translated, and edited for EPICA publications and has led and interpreted for more than 25 travel seminars to Central America and the Caribbean including high-level religious and congressional delegations. Her translation specialty is in human rights, social justice, trade, and grassroots development issues.

Kathy lived in Guatemala and El Salvador for five years in the 1990s, working with Witness for Peace and the Mennonite Central Committee. She taught Spanish at Pacific Lutheran University for two years and has also taught Spanish to high school students and community groups. In addition, she has experience teaching English as a Second Language to adults. Kathy holds a Masters Degree in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Education from Lenoir-Rhyne College.

Kathy Ogle is a member of the Translators and Interpreters Guild (TTIG #100,CWA), the American Translators Association, and the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care.
